We currently offer two unique guided tours of Irvine’s notable paths – the Jeffrey Open Space Trail and the Quail Hill Loop Trail. Both tours showcase the city’s commitment to preserving open spaces and provide residents & visitors with opportunities to connect with nature.

Quail Hill Loop Trail
- Length & Duration: This is a 2-mile loop, lightly guided 1.5 hour tour led by Irvine Company staff.
- Terrain: The trail is unpaved but well-maintained, featuring a modest incline that is manageable for most visitors, including families, pets, and casual hikers.
- Scenery & Features: Located within the Irvine Open Space Preserve, the trail offers expansive views of the city and surrounding landscapes. Interpretive displays along the route provide insights into the area’s natural history.

Jeffrey Open Space Trail
- Length & Duration: Approximately one mile in one hour. Original landscape architect Richard Roy highlights the design decisions that brought this space to life as part of the Irvine Master Plan.
- Terrain: The trail is paved, making it accessible for various activities and suitable for all ages, pets and fitness levels.
- Scenery & Features: As you traverse the path, you’ll pass through meadows, woodlands, and botanical gardens. Art installations along the way depict 500 years of local history, offering both natural beauty and cultural insights.
